CBC members and others spent the morning distributing food, clothing, and household items to those effected by the flooding. See some of the pictures of the river that is causing the issues. See the one picture of the cement pad. A house was there but it is totally gone. The place where they are cooking is a set up that is now providing meals for those in the area that are in need. Also, many people are sleeping in this cooking area because they don’t have anything or anywhere else to go. Many of the ones that we met and prayed with have lost everything. The pictures do not do it justice…
The team delivered food for 93 families. There were 14 families that couldn’t get across the river so we left items with Pastor Marcos so that they could deliver them when they can. Any clothing or household items that were not taken were also left with Pastor Marcos and they will distribute them as needed.
Thanks to all who donated food, clothing, household items and money. It was put to great use. Most of the cash donation was used to purchase pots and pans that were desperately needed. We also had some stuffed animals for the children to bring a smile to their faces. The Word of God was given to those that came before they received their items. CBC passed out bibles and gave out bracelets with scripture on them. We asked for Gods love and power to lift up these families during this time of difficulties. Again, many lost everything. The stories that we heard today were heart wrenching. We made a small dent in all the suffering and glorified God and the Son today. Still, this is a small dent and there is much to be done in the days, weeks, and months ahead. Keep praying for the people. They need God’s strength and love.
